Jessica talks about her passions!

I am an entrepreneur and a spa owner of over 21 years. I am a mom of two boys ages 21 and 5. I am a real estate investor, an international best-selling author and a coach to Spa owners struggling with their marketing plans and mindset. I absolutely love sporting events and we design our travel around hitting ball parks and arenas all over the United States. I love to cook and try to find healthy substitutions to tasty dishes. I love sitting on our wrap

around porch and working outside while enjoying nature. I am currently most passionate about expanding my new coaching business and bringing my course, The Intentional Spa CEO to life.

This frees up so much of their time, energy and efforts that they are allowed to invest more in other areas of their lives such as family or “me” time.

My spa business started in 2004 and I have built 2 locations to multi-million dollar spas. I have successfully sold one location and dove into the real estate business. Most recently, I launched my coaching business, Jessica Skop Coaching which focuses on helping spa owners design marketing and mindset strategies to take them to the next level while also reducing their stress. The Story Behind The Business

I always knew I wanted to be a business owner but I was unsure as to what that business should be. After an injury in college I had to go through massage therapy and the moment I stepped in that building I fell in love. The aromatherapy, the help they could give me, the calmness all spoke to me. I then shifted my major in college and spent the next 7 years researching all I could to become a spa owner. I soaked up as much information as I could with current employers and focused on the marketing aspects of opening businesses such as restaurants. I kept Journal upon Journal of what I liked and what I didn’t like. I visited as many Spas as I could afford to and took so many notes. I launched my first Spa business on September 27th 2004.

My coaching business started when I began to believe beyond what was possible again and was looking for something more after 20 years in the spa business.

I found that I was helping several other owners with their questions and concerns and I felt joy in helping them. I also felt I needed to step away from day to day operations in order to gain more fulfillment. I found a love for gratitude. I found a love for mindset training and therefore decided to open my coaching business to not only provide marketing techniques and tips as that is my expertise, but also to provide the owner with the right mindset and gratitude to take it to that next level.

Impacting Lives

I am able to help Spa owners really dive into a marketing plan and structure it so well and thoroughly that it becomes an easy repeatable system. This frees up so much of their time, energy and efforts that they are allowed to invest more in other areas of their lives such as family or “me” time. Many spa owners are overworked, overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. I help them with this and provide the gift of time…..and some great sales, sometimes massive.

From challenges to wins

What is the biggest challenge you faced in your business?

I lost my first spot to a total loss fire in 2007. I literally watched it burn to the ground. I also had a contractor that filed for bankruptcy after receiving the insurance checks. This meant I had to rebuild without support from insurance and start all over again. I reopened in 10 days with a makeshift spa and then proceeded to take the next two years to secure a location, renovate it and build my vision. My original location was 1200 square feet; the new location I built was 6300 square feet and added a wine bar.

What are you most proud of regarding your business?

Although most people expect me to say rebuilding after the fire, or reaching the multi-million dollar mark, the thing that I personally am most proud of is the evolution of our management style. So much has changed in the workplace over the past 20 years and I am most proud of the fact that we have evolved into employers who are compassionate and grateful while holding strong standards and accountability. Lead-Manage-Hold Accountable. This managing style has led us to the BEST team in 20 years!! We have managers that hold true to our core values. We have a team that loves being here and has the lowest employee turnover EVER. We have a strong sense of standards and accountability for each other and for ourselves. Creating THIS is our proudest accomplishment.

Jessica in a word: Intentional

In the midst of helping other spa owners, I am also building women’s retreats that focus on recharging and gratitude. We lead with gratitude, we learn the benefits of living a life of gratitude, and we also ground ourselves with sound baths, massages and aromatherapy foot soaks. These are my next passions to explore and build upon.
